Speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors:

Dear business partners,

Fiscal year 2019 was another good year for PST CLC and we managed to exceed the annual plan and achieved an EBITDA of CZK 56.1 million. All divisions of the company achieved good results and with our innovative work and business success we fulfilled our motto “Comprehensive logistics services” and the motto of our parent group Mitsui-Soko “Value Beyond Logistics”.

The Logistics division attained an operating profit of CZK 13.6 million. This year, the biggest task was the closure of LC Modřice and its relocation to the new LC Brno near the Tuřany airport. This modern logistics center offers an increase in storage capacity by 30% to 6,900 pallet places and enables us to further develop in the logistically desirable location of the Moravian metropolis. In LC Úžice, there were more changes in the composition of clients during the year, the volume of the automotive segment decreased in favor of FMCG – thanks to which in March and April 2020 there was practically no decrease in performance despite the pandemic situation. After a several months break, our significant, satisfied client Chipita trading in food goods returned to Úžice, and at the end of fiscal year 2019 we started cooperation with the logistics company Agility, which closed its own warehouse in the neighbourhood and PST CLC became a strong partner for warehousing and national distribution in the Czech Republic.

In cooperation with key clients Continental Barum and Philip Morris Czech Republic, we managed to meet high client requirements, manipulated volumes and set plans. We have been cooperating with Philip Morris in Kutná Hora for 14 years and it is a very close partnership in which precise compliance with the SOP is key, and thanks to that we fulfilled our operational results plan. We have a similar eight-year partnership with Continental Barum, where we also fulfilled the plan thanks to the high quality and volumes of manipulated and distributed tires.

The Customs Services Division is traditionally the most important branch of the company’s activity with an operating result approaching CZK 39 million. Our goal is to be demonstrably the best and largest provider of customs services in the Czech Republic, and we succeed in achieving this thanks to the constant improvement in the quality of services provided. Our Customs Methodology Department is unique in the market and provides clients with advice and audit services and enables them to achieve savings thanks to the effective use of economic customs regimes. At the end of the year, the organizational structure of the division was reorganized and streamlined. Division Director Ing. Vojtěch Brouček takes over the management of the company’s Business Development and the division is taken over by General Manager Petr Böhm.

The Forwarding Division had a great year with an operating result of CZK 22.6 million. The Container Transport department was particularly successful and has been strengthening and showing the strength of PST CLC in the field of the first / last mile for sea containers for a long time. The Air & Sea department also achieved strong results thanks to close global cooperation with other branches of the Mitsui-Soko Group network.

We also achieved very good results in the company’s administration, where thanks to thorough analysis and subsequent optimization of processes and increasing the use of automation options, there were significant savings in operating costs. We place great emphasis on environmental protection, not only on the regularly successfully renewed certification ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 50001: 2011, ISO 9001: 2015, OHSAS 18001: 2007 but also on the certification of the AEO-F Approved Economic Entity.

The year 2020 will be strongly marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent economic recession. PST CLC is a strong company in terms of capital and operations. We believe that thanks to a very diverse portfolio of clients and activities offered, we will remain strong even during the economic crisis and will be a sought-after and safe partner for customs services, transport or warehousing. The 2020 plan had been created before the crisis broke out, which is why it is ambitious from today’s point of view – but we can take on challenges, overcome problems and we know that we can also support those clients whose business has been temporarily affected by government measures. At PST CLC, we believe that thanks to effective teamwork, we will manage the crisis and come out of it together with our clients even stronger!
